Bezan DAF is a multimedia tutoring application designed for learning to play the Middle Eastern drum known as DAF. The current version offers 45 free tutorial lessons suitable for beginners through to intermediate players.

Each lesson begins with a display of the score, providing users with a clear overview before commencing. During playback, the app guides users by highlighting each note, sequentially indicating which should be played, thereby facilitating an interactive learning experience.

The setup interface permits customization of the tutorial sessions. Users can enhance playback by adding visual elements, such as displaying Metronome movements or illustrating the note’s beat positions directly on the drum surface. Additionally, users can integrate audio cues, including ticks for the Metronome or DAF beats, to improve rhythm accuracy.

The configuration options also include toggling visual and audio features on or off, adjusting the tempo to suit practice needs, and setting lessons to repeat automatically for targeted skill development.

Recognizing demand for additional content, the developers plan to expand the lesson library through in-app purchases in future updates of Bezan DAF.
